The Director of Corporate Enforcement v an unqualified auditor

Alleged Offence(s): 
Contrary to Section 187 of the Companies Act 1990, whilst not qualified to audit accounts, a person acted as auditor of 11 companies when not qualified to do so. 

Outcome: 
On a plea of guilty the Court convicted and fined the Accused €1,000 in respect of the Summons for one of the companies, together with €1,500 towards the cost of the prosecution. The remaining ten Summonses were taken into consideration.
