Alleged Offence(s): 
(1) Contrary to Section 187 (1) of the Companies Act 1990, Mr. Hafeez, trading under the name and style of MS Hafeez & Co. acted as auditor of the companies referred to below when not qualified to do so:- 

Azam Restaurant Limited (comp. No. 306294) for the financial periods ended 30/6/01, 31/12/01, and 31/12/02; 

People on Line Limited (comp. No. 335914) for financial periods ended 31/12/01 and 31/12/02; 

Laziza Foods Limited (comp. No. 359058) for financial periods ended 31/12/02 and 31/12/03; 

E. Care Limited (comp. No. 336068) for financial period ended 31/12/01; 

A. Look Limited (comp. No. 322344) for financial periods ended 31/3/02, 31/3/03 and 31/3/04; 

Eurobydesign (Impex) Limited (comp. No. 336068) for financial period ended 31/12/01; 

Koo Koo Roo Limited (comp. No. 362559) for financial period ended 30/4/04 and 

Chicken Hut Limited (comp. No. 370567) for financial period ended 30/4/04. 

(2) In addition, Mr. Hafeez was charged on five counts of having contravened S187(2)(a) of the Companies Act 1990, for auditing companies of which he was an officer, namely People on Line Limited; Laziza Foods Limited: E. Care Limited; Koo Koo Roo Limited and Chicken Hut Limited. 

Outcome: 
On a plea of guilty the Court convicted the defendant in respect of each of the 14 charges pursuant to Section 187(1) of the Companies Act 1990, imposed fines totalling €4,000 and directed he pay €1,000 towards the cost of the prosecution. 

The 5 charges pursuant to Section 187 (2) of the same Act were taken into consideration.
