Alleged Offence(s):
Contrary to Section 187 (1) of the Companies Act 1990, Mr. O’Reilly, trading under the name and style of Brian O’Reilly & Associates acted as auditor of three companies when not qualified to do so. The 6 charges before the court related to Mr. O’Reilly acting as auditor for two separate financial years for each of the three companies. 

Outcome:
On a plea of guilty the Court convicted the defendant in respect of 4 charges pursuant to Section 187(6) and (9) of the Companies Act 1990, imposed fines totalling €1,000 and directed he pay €669 towards the cost of the prosecution. Two other similar charges were taken into consideration.
