Alleged Offence(s): 
Contrary to Section 187 (1) of the Companies Act 1990, Mr. Forde, practicing under the name of Ignatius Forde & Co., Accountants acted as auditor of seven companies when not qualified to do so. The 16 charges before the court related to Mr. Forde acting as auditor for a total of 16 separate financial years for the companies. 

Outcome: 
On a plea of guilty the Court convicted the defendant in respect of 3 charges pursuant to Section 187(6) and (9) of the Companies Act 1990, imposed fines totalling €2,500 and directed he pay €600 towards the cost of the prosecution. Thirteen other similar charges were taken into consideration.
